In a unexpected crossover event that breaks traditional predictions, Ubisoft has unveiled an virtual crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual Thanksgiving event runs from November 25 through December 22, including no-cost extra story content for Shadows players.

Strange Mission Revealed

According to the official release, "An unusual meeting draws protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh mission, where rumors of prohibited ceremonies and fearsome transformations resonate through the obscurity." The storyline presents a "unusually garbed woman named Ada" who assigns the duo with traveling into the Gemstone Grotto—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to save her companion from a clandestine cult.

The adventure centers on "bizarre trials and a terrifying enemy" and is accessible to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.

Recognizable Locations and Transformations

The teaser features the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was previously where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through eras. The trailer concludes with a dramatic moment showing a character, presumably the prisoner, transforming into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.

Unique Rewards and Bonus Content

Players who accomplish the mission will acquire an unique katana in addition to multiple items concealed throughout the area in secret chests. The update also features in-store Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:

• Mikasa outfit for Naoe
• Unique arms
• Survey Corps steed

Third Free Story Addition

This update also introduces the game's latest no-cost story content, titled "The Mystery." This marks not the primary time the Assassin's Creed franchise has collaborated with well-known anime properties. The series earlier featured a 2020 crossover story uniting Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga. Moreover, Valhalla informally featured a quest that clearly referenced the famous series One-Punch Man.
